Great American Ball Park History and Overview

Great American Ball Park is located at 100 Joe Nuxhall Way in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is the home of the Cincinnati Reds. It opened its doors in 2003, replacing Cinergy Field, the Reds’ home from 1970 to 2002. Great American Ball Park has a capacity of 42,319 for Reds games.

Great American Ball Park Seat Numbers

The Great American Ball Park seating chart with seat numbers shows that seat 1 is always closer to the lower-numbered adjacent section. For example, seat 1 in section 129 would be closest to the highest numbered seat in section 128.

Typically, the best seats are closer to the home plate. Going by that logic, if you’re on the left-field line, you’d want a seat with a lower seat number, and on the right-field line, you’d look for a higher seat number. (So remember, don’t think of seat and row numbers as the same thing.)

Cincinnati Reds Best Seats

Looking to go to a Reds home game? The Best Seats for a Cincinnati Reds game are behind home plate in the Diamond Club or Scout seats. Other attractive seats include field boxes, dugouts, or club seats on the 300 level.

Finally, sections 408-410 are the all-you-can-eat seats, and although the view isn’t optimal, you can certainly get your money’s worth if you skip lunch or dinner before the game.

Cincinnati Reds Premium Seats

Great American Ball Park offers a few premium seating options for the Cincinnati Reds. The most expensive seats are behind home plate, known as the Diamond Seats (sections 1-5). These seats include food and drink, wait service, and exclusive access to the Mercedes-Benz Diamond Club.

The Diamond Club boasts a window that offers a direct view of the tunnel leading from the Reds Clubhouse to the dugout. The seats directly behind the Diamond Club are known as the Scout Seats. These seats offer wait service (not included in the ticket price) and provide access to Scouts Alley, featuring private concessions and restrooms.

Finally, the 300 sections are known as the Club level, with access to the Fox Sports Ohio Champions Club. The club’s amenities include a wide selection of food items, as well as unlimited water and soft drinks.

Cincinnati Reds Sun and Moon Deck Seats

The Sun Deck/Moon Deck seats are in the right field at Great American Ball Park in sections 140-146. Despite the price tag, these seats are for true Reds fans and offer good sightlines for any Reds game.

But beware: These are some of the only sections that are always in the sun, so be sure to bring sunscreen.

Cincinnati Reds Seats in the Shade

If you are looking for seats in the shade at Great American Ball Park, you will want to seriously consider the Club Level seats in the 300 sections. Sit above row F to ensure you are not only in the shade but also covered in case of rain. In the other levels, if you sit in the last 5 rows, you will surely be out of the sun.

Generally, the right field tends to be more protected from the sun than the left field.

Cincinnati Reds Dugout and Bullpen Locations

The Cincinnati Reds Dugout is in front of sections 128-131, and the visitors’ dugout is in front of sections 115-118.

The Cincinnati Reds Bullpen is located in the center field near section 101, and the visitors’ bullpen is between sections 139 and 140.

Covered Seating at Great American Ballpark

Looking for a shady area for a Cincinnati Reds home game? This section is for you.

Depending on the time of day, shaded seats change. In general, you can find covered seating at the Great American Ballpark on the 1st base side of the ballpark, farther back in one of those sections in a row that’s covered, and in the 300-level club seats.

Only 300-level club seating guarantees a spot in the shade for early afternoon games at Great American Ball Park. However, by 4:10, most seats along the 1st baseline at the Great American Ballpark should be in the shade.

ADA Seating at Great American Ballpark

For those who are wheelchair users and/or those looking to attend a game at Great American Ballpark with somebody who is, there is some important information that you’ll want to know. If you’re seeking ADA seating, you’ll find accessible rows at the top of most sections throughout the venue.

If necessary, folding chairs will be provided for guests, such as those who need to sit with a fan while using a wheelchair.
